Privacy Policy

Rafeeqo ("we") is a parental control app that helps parents manage their minor children's device use in a healthy, transparent way. We take family privacy, and children's privacy in particular, very seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and your rights.

1. Who we are

2. Our principles

• Transparency: the child app is always visible on the child's device, and shows a persistent notification on Android devices. There is no hidden or covert mode.
• Data minimization: we collect only what the service needs.
• No selling, no ads: we do not sell data, share it for advertising, or show ads.
• Parents are in control: the parent creates the account, approves pairing the child's device, and can delete data at any time.

3. Data we collect

From the parent: name, email, sign-in details, family settings and rules, including text typed or dictated to create rules with AI.

From the child's device (after parental consent): a nickname or first name and age range (not a full date of birth); app usage statistics (app names, duration and times); extra-time requests and the reason the child writes; technical device information needed to operate (device model, OS version, pairing ID).

What we do not currently collect: message or chat content, recordings of the child's screen, voice or camera, or location. If a future feature needs additional data (such as location), it will only work after the parent explicitly enables it, and we will update this policy first.

From the early-access form on our website: name, email, country or city (optional), number of children, and device type. We use this only to contact you about early access. It is stored on our web server in a location that is not publicly accessible, and deleted on request or six months after launch if you don't join. We do not keep your IP address in our signup records, only a temporary salted hash of it to block spam; our hosting provider's logs may retain IP addresses for a limited time. A copy of each signup is also emailed to our internal inbox.

4. How we use data

To enforce the parent's time limits and rules, show usage reports to the parent, deliver the child's requests and approval notifications, and keep the service secure and working.

5. Artificial intelligence

We use our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude model), for two features. All requests go through our servers only:

• Creating rules: when a parent writes a rule in their own words, the rule text is sent to turn it into a structured rule, which the parent reviews before saving.
• Recommendations on extra-time requests: when a child asks for extra time, we send the minutes requested, the reason the child wrote, the app's name and category, today's usage and daily limit for it, extra time already granted today, and the child's age band, so the parent gets a suggestion. We never send the child's name. The suggestion is advisory only; the parent always decides, and can turn this feature off.

Voice dictation: if a parent chooses to dictate a rule, the speech recognition service on their device (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone) converts the voice to text. Rafeeqo does not keep any audio recording. That service is subject to the device provider's privacy policy.

Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models.

6. Storage and processors

We use trusted service providers that process data only on our behalf: Google Firebase (authentication, database, notifications), Anthropic (AI processing of rule text and extra-time recommendations), and Hostinger (website and early-access form hosting). Data may be stored or processed outside the UAE with appropriate safeguards. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted to members of the same family through strict security rules.

7. Retention

Detailed usage statistics are kept for 90 days, then deleted or aggregated so they no longer identify anyone. When an account is deleted, family data is deleted within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.

8. Your rights

Parents can at any time access, correct, or download their and their children's data, unpair a child's device, or delete the account and all data from within the app or by contacting us.

9. Children's privacy

Rafeeqo is intended only for parents or legal guardians managing their own minor children. Children cannot create an account themselves, and we only collect a child's data after the parent consents and pairs the device. If we learn we collected a child's data without parental consent, we delete it promptly.

10. Changes

We will notify you in the app or by email before any material change.
